Trinitarian Theology
The two main texts I am initially using to guide my Mind of Christ study of the Trinity are Saint Augustine’s On the Trinity and the Catechism of the Catholic Church. I am especially drawn to Saint Augustine’s treatment of the image of the Trinity in the human psyche as constituted by memory, intellect, and will.
Trinitarian Neurotheology
Saint Augustine’s treatment of the image of the Trinity in the human psyche is particularly appealing to me because it seems likely that it could productively be integrated with contemporary neural understandings of these human powers. Such an integration of Trinitarian theology and contemporary neuroscience would constitute an authentic “neurotheology”.
